Our Assessment of Color Lounge
Color Lounge lands at number two because of something that is actually harder to build than a single great colorist: a team where every chair produces the same level of work. That matters more than people realize until they have booked with a studio's best person, raved about the results to a friend, sent the friend in, and watched the friend come back disappointed because she got someone else. Color Lounge has closed that gap. Their Burbank location draws a Westside clientele that cannot always plan around one specific stylist's schedule, and the training standards hold up regardless of who handles the appointment.
The real proof is what happens at 10 to 12 weeks. Plenty of studios produce color that looks polished the day of service. The question is whether the formulation was built to last or just to photograph. Color Lounge clients report that their tone holds dimension well past the point where most color starts looking tired - less of that orange-brass creep on lighter hair, less of the flattening that happens when a formula does not account for LA sun and high porosity. That is a formulation decision, made before anyone picks up a brush.
The studio is a strong fit for clients who cannot always book the same person, those who want low-maintenance color with a genuinely long window between appointments, and anyone who has had the experience of great results followed by an inconsistent follow-up visit. New clients can usually get in faster here than at studios built around a single name, which is worth factoring into the decision.
